Weekly summary 25/2020

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 25th week of 2020, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Novel Coronavirus situation.

Worldwide, Coronavirus cases keep climbing with increased pace, currently with between 150,000 and 180,000 new cases per day. The total number of cases worldwide exceeded 9 million today.

The hotspots remain Brazil, the U.S., and India, followed by Russia, Pakistan, Chile, and Mexico. Opposed to that, the situation in Europe is almost relaxed.

The shipping situation remains largely unchanged, though everybody keeps hoping for decreasing freight costs.

2) New arrivals.

This week, two new heads were introduced:

• Ildoll C19 (2020) head - TPE/silicone
• Xycolo ›Xialin‹ head - silicione

Yes, C19 is actually a new head. Ildoll had the 'bright' idea to rename their old C19 head to C17-b. Since nobody is going to relabel old photo series or factory photos, a lot of mistakes and head scratching is expected to be caused by this brilliant move towards utmost confsion.

At Dollstudio the old head is now called "C17-b (CE)" since it is a head with closed eyes (= CE). To distinguish the old from the new C19, we will try to annex "(2020)" to the new C19.

Also, two new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Ildoll IL-156 body style / TPE or silicone / ~156 cm / ~31 kg (silicone) or ~37 kg (TPE)
• New arrivals: Xycolo XC-163/E body style - silicone / ~163 cm / ~27 kg
