Unboxing Xycolo XC-163/A body style with ›Vala‹ head

Silicone Blend: The silicone blend is a more firm type which qualifies the XC-163 primarily for photography, display and companionship.

The silicone has no noteworthy smell and is nicely non-oily with minimal oil leakage.

The head is made of a firm silicone; breasts do not feel substantially softer than the rest of the body; the silicone blend is different than what Doll Sweet is using as does not have the 'Marshmellow'-like resistance.

Shore hardness of the raw silicone is – as usual – not specified.

The rather non-sticky composition of the silicone makes it relatively convenient to dress this doll. Though, obviously it's still a lot easier to dress a PE manikin.

Skin Surface: Some similarity to a newer DS, but with lots of added details like sculpted veins all over the body, including freckles. Trimming of seamlines is OK, though it's not as good as on Gynoid Tech's GT-165 where seamlines are more or less invisible.

Surface Finishing: Rather similar with GT than with DS since there is an advanced surface finishing all over the body.

It is unknown if Xycolo uses some kind of coating, so probability of skin peeling off is impossible to predict.

Skin Tone: Visually similar to Doll Sweet's 'lpink'; direct comparison with DS samples is tdb.

Judging from the about two hours I had the XC-163 in my hands, manufacturing quality is quite good. Joints of the skeleton are adjusted OK, even though consistency across nearby joints could be improved.

No severe manufacturing flaws or defects showed up during this Unboxing.

Compared to other dolls, I'd put manufacturing quality on a similar level like a good Doll Sweet.

Seamline trimming is not bad, but it's not outstanding, either. The doll has visible seamlines around the body. They are not annoying, but they are just there:

Also noteworthy: Little silicone bumps here and there…

… and on the fingers very small holes on the sides of the fingers. These are probably leftovers from fixating the skeleton when pouring the silicone, but nevertheless how small these holes are, they should be sealed so the ownder can bath or shower the doll without risking water to enter the inside of the doll.

Things that will require a closer look (= tbd) are:

• body part of the neck connector
• longevity of joint adjustment

The body shape is to a certain degree a matter of personal taste, so I can only speak for myself. I think the body shape is well done and aesthetically pleasing, though the breasts are relatively small and the nipples are in an unaroused state. It's a rather petite body style but not unrealistically overstyled.

Hand and foot proportions are good. Due to the jointed fingers, the hands are relatively big compared to other Chinese dolls like Sino's SI-152 or SI-172, or the life-sized Hitdolls/Ildolls which sometimes have irritatingly small hands.

Regarding the lady parts, the XC-163 has as as well a vaginal as an anal body cavity. The width of the vagina, built-in (fixed) version, looks usable for an average caucasian male; this is probably a major difference compared with Doll Sweet's DS-167 'Evo'.

Placement of the lady parts looks OK:

Around the (built-in) vagina, there are also visible seamlines.

These seamlines would be hidden with pubic hair.

Among the biggest downsides of this doll might be the firmness of her vagina. Compared with a Gynoid Tech or Sino-doll's 'ultra-soft vagina' option, there is definitely room for improvement.

Since this is not my doll, I can not try her out, so things to be investigated further (= tbd) are:

• usability of the vagina insert variant - are they large enough for an average Caucasian male?
• durability of the body cavities - how resistant are the body cavities against tears?
• endoscope inspection of both body cavities and approximation of the depth.

Investigating the hybrid doll potential is tbd.

Generally, there are a couple of possibilities to get heads from other manufacturers onto a Xycolo body as the spigot part of the connector is in Xycolo's heads.

For example, a Doll Sweet head onto Xycolo body adapter should be doable.

If Xycolo's heads can be adapted onto other manufacturer's bodies depends if it is (non-destructively) possible to remove the spigot part from the head.

Overall, the Xycolo XC-163/C is a very interesting doll with interesting attibutes like a low weight, an unusual silicone blend and fascinating skin surface finishing. Considering the skeleton design, the range of movements diagram, and the football-like firmness of her butt, the XC-163/C can sit without risking damages like we encountered with Gynoid's GT-165.

Is she the perfect doll for everybody? Certainly not. Such a doll simply does not exist. For example, if you want to have oral sex or to acquire full anal penetration, this doll might not be the right choice for you. Even though the vaginal cavity has a relatively large diameter, the firmness of the material might spoil a sexual encounter.

Good use cases for this doll are, for example, photography, display, and companionship. You will love this doll especially because of her easily managable weight, her outstanding skeleton and because she is so photogenic. The hinged fingers will tickle you to play with them, but they are delicate. Hinged fingers are not automatically more durable than wires; maybe they won't break as easily as wired fingers, but the miniature joints can still loosen their tight adjustment like any other joint. Also considering the skin surface finishing, this is probably a similarily delicate doll as many othersfrom the upper range segment. You should trear a doll like this carefully and with respect.

Among the outstanding strengths of the XC-163 is an aluminium alloy skeleton with (supposedly) no welded parts; if Xycolo supplies spare parts, similar to Doll Sweet, this will be one of the best maintainable dolls on the market. Regarding silicone adhesives, we did not get something like a 'repair kit' from the factory. This kit had been already requested for the January doll, but we never got it. Since this doll did not suffer any damage from shipping or posing, we did not need to try off-the-shelf adhesives like Sil-poxy or Wacker E4. However, considering the minimally oily nature and the lack of a surface coating, I do not expect problems like we encountered with GT or early dolls from Sino. What we didn't get either are skin tone samples, so it is impossible to make skin tone comparisons with other brands or to do tests with stain removers or other cleaning agents.

Since Xycolo offers two variants – XCOS ('organic silicone') and XCPS ('platinum silicone') – with significantly different features, it puts customers into the unpleasant situation having to decide if they rather want softness or elaborate skin surface finishing. If you want a sex doll for sex, the XCOS variant might be of limited use for you; if you want the most realistic visuals, the XCPS variant might be of limited use for you.

I know that many customers are looking for multiple -purpose dolls. They want a doll for companionship, occasional sex, and they want to take pictures if they feel like it. Just like in a real human relationship where dedicated 'fuck buddies' are rather an exception. The more dolls are specializing, the less these customers can be served with a single doll. The only solution for this is to move away from monogamous-type 'relationships' to a full doll harem. That's where I can see a XC-163/C, as a cherished harem member if you feel like taking pictures or want some synthetic companionship on the couch when watching TV. But for sex, you might use a different doll.

Where can we put the XC-163/C in comparison with other dolls of this price range?

That's a really tough question.

• The skeleton and the hinged fingers put her into the high end segment. In this segment is not much competition, only Gynoid Tech and most recently Doll Sweet's new 'Summit' series. Xycolos skeleton is better designed than the one from Gynoid, but I think Gynoid's fingers are a little bit better than the one from Xycolo.
• Weight and the massive foam cores put her into a narrow segment of specialized lightweight dolls. The only major contender in this segment is Ildoll with their lineup of extra-lightweight silicone dolls. Most other silicone doll makers do not offer this kind of lightweight dolls.
• Silicone blends and silicone processing put her in a supposedly extinct class of early Chinese silicone dolls like the early builds from Z-Onedoll (2016) or Happy Doll's silicone heads. As far as I can tell, nobody else is using such a firm silicone anymore, especially not without blending it with silicone gel in areas that should be soft like the breasts or the vagina. Seamline trimming is about on a level with a entry level (classic) Doll Sweet which is good enough for most use cases.
• Body makeup, skin surface finishing and manufacturing quality puts her into the upper medium range, together with ambitious dolls like Sino-doll with R+S. Head makeup on the Vala head is qutstanding and can fully compete with a S-level makeup head from Doll Sweet.
