Weekly summary 13/2021

Hi,

this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 13th week of 2021, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.

1) Coronavirus situation. a) The situation in general. Bad news from the vaccination campaign. As of March 24th, the EMA database EudraVigilance reported 3,964 deaths from or with injections with the substances Moderna CX-024414, Pfizer/Biontech Tozinameran, and Astrazeneca CHADOX1 NCOV-19. All three substances have a conditional release within the EU. Similar figures are reported by the U.S. CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) where the Corona injections have an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Also very worrying, according to the official European mortality monitoring (Euromomo), there is a significant spike in all-cause mortality in people 65+ from February 22 to March 21 in Israel. By early March, Israel had vaccinated about 90% of its 65+ population and about 50% of its entire population. This raises the question: How safe are these vaccinations?

On the other hand, with now 49 studies including 26 Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) reporting positive effects of Ivermectin, there is sufficient research proving the efficacy of Covid-19 prophylaxis and treatment protocols like I-MASK+ and MATH+ available. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is similarily managable like any other easily transmissible virus. According to the data, Ivermectin shows much less adverse reactions than the currently available vaccinations. b) Impact on the doll business. The first shipments from after CNY holidays were delivered, so luckily some packages travel relatively quickly to EU and US destinations. Heavier and larger shipments travel with a couple of days delay to destinations in North America, but shipments to EU destinations with import fees clearance can take significantly longer (up to 60+ days before CNY holidays). Small items like separate heads can not be shipped with the UPS oder DHL special line services anymore, so we have set up a new method for import fees clearance and freight forwarding (applicable for EU destination). For shipments from Europe to North America, there are still no air freight capacities, so items like Indigo's CWA or stain remover can not be shipped to these destinations.

2) New arrivals.

This week, two new heads were introduced:

• JY Doll ›Jie‹ head - silicone
• Zelex G13 head - silicone

Two new body styles were released:

• New arrivals: Zelex ZE-155 - silicone / ~155 cm / ~33 kg
• New arrivals: SE Doll SE-166/C body style - TPE / ~166 cm / ~35 kg

No new head variants of existing heads were introduced:

3) Industry news.

Also, as of March 14th, 2021, TDF-accredited vendors are no longer allowed to link to "pages that promote dolls that are disallowed at TDF", including their own shop websites. This is a historical milestone. Additionally, numerous pictures by popular photographers like Mizuwali (e.g. Piper Doll) and Mandos (WM Dolls) habe been dissaproved by TDF management.
