Sino-doll & Top-sino suspend production until March 2021

Hi,

according to a memo from today, the Sino-doll & Top-sino brands will suspend production until March 2021.

As Chinese New Year is coming, our holiday will start from February 1st to 19th. […]
However, if you place the orders after January 1st, they can only be completed after the holiday.

Also, a clarification about the price increase announcement was made:

Due to the unstable exchange rate and freight cost recently, we are going to update a new price list recently.
We will quote by CNY, including the product price and freight cost, so that you could pay at the real-time exchange rate and adjust your selling price better.

Hi,

Nicole from Sino-doll asked me to point out that there will be no halting of production (except for the CNY holidays), there "will be only […] a delay of delivery".

What does that mean for customer orders?

When are the dolls produced.

Here is a more detailed timeline:

  • Orders placed until Dec 31st will be produced during January, until China shuts down for CNY holidays.
  • Orders placed after Dec 31st will be produced after CNY holidays.

When are the dolls delivered.

When factoring in shipping times and assuming an average lead time to make a Sino-doll of 4-5 weeks (a little less or a little more, depending on the configuration), the approximate timeline looks like so:

  • Orders placed until Dec 31st will be delivered between February (drop shipping destinations) and March/April (EU destinations with UPS special line).
  • Orders placed after Dec 31st will be delivered between March (drop shipping destinations) and May/June (EU destinations with UPS special line).

That is assuming

  • that there will be no further restrictions for drop shipping destinations (like the U.S., Norway, or Switzerland) caused by Coronavirus lockdowns;
  • that the UPS special line keeps their current 'pace' of 45-60 days transit time and does not slow down further (as in spring 2020); and
  • that there will be no '2nd wave' of Covid-19 infections in China after the CNY movement of millions of migrant workers.
