Jinsan introduces articulated hand skeleton
Hi,
a couple of years ago, Gynoid Tech introduced a hand skeleton ('maniphalanx') with hinged finger 'bones'. To my knowledge, this was the first doll maker who accomplished this. A little later, a Chinese newcomer company called Xycolo followed. And finally, Doll Sweet/EX Doll developed this feature for their high-end models (Summit and Clonesome series). All these three manufacturers are silicone doll makers from the upper range to high end segment.
Now the TPE factory Jinsan joined with a similar functionality - movable fingers without the notorious finger wires. This feature is widely available for many, possibly all, Jinsan brands like WM Dolls, WM Doll, and YL Doll. As far as I can tell, Jinsan is the first major TPE factory which started to compete with upper range silicone brands, at least partially.
This upgrade is available for all WM Dolls, WM Doll, and YL Doll models taller than 140 cm. Pricing depends on the vendor, but typically these articulated fingers will cost les than $100 USD.
I haven't seen the actual skeleton design for the Jinsan maniphalanx yet. Considering the moderate pricing, it might not be as elaborate as the Gynoid Tech or DS Summit/Clonesome hands which are precision mechanic miracles.
Most likely, the articulated hand skeleton will not fully resolve the issue of finger pokes. Possibly it might even increase how delicate the doll hand is. If you accidentally roll over such an articulated hand, you might break every 'bone' in the dolls hand.
However, from my own experience I can predict that you might never go back to a wired hand after you touched a hand with articulated finger design. If (imho) feels so much better, and it is so much more nice to pose for photography or display.
